This course will introduce students to practical usage of mathematical formulations that are used every day in the medical field with focus on drug-dosage calculations. Students will learn common abbreviations and medicinal terms as applied in the metric system, apothecary system, and household system. Students will learn how to interpret formulations, execute conversions, and calculate orders common to the nursing and pharmacy practice. If you are interested in pursuing a career in nursing, pharmacy, clinical medical assisting, emergency services, or other entry-level medical professions, and want to get a stress-free introduction of their mathematical concepts, then this is the course for you.
